Kausani - Kumaon [Uttarakhand] ::.
Kausani is located in the district
of Almora, which is placed at the altitude of about
6075 ft (1890) metres above the sea level. Many mountains
like Trishul, Nandakot and Nanda Devi can be seen easily
from this place. Mahatma Gandhi was impressed by the
beauty of Kausani and called this place as ‘Switzerland
of India', since it is very similar to the landscape
of Switzerland. Today Kausani attracts many tourists
from all over the world. At Kausani the mountains rise
so spectacularly as if to get in touch with the heavens.
